Luis Munoz-Marin Elementary School Children To Receive New, Safe PlaygroundKeystone Mercy Health Plan and Community Members Build Playground to Prevent Childhood InjuriesMarch 12, 2007 In an effort to curb the preventable injuries in school children, Keystone Mercy, along with the Weed & Seed project, ASIPRA, Univision, and Marin Elementary School, will build a safe playground, and also make aesthetic upgrades to the play area of the school. "It is humbling to see the children at Marin Elementary School so excited for this new playground," said Anne Morrissey, President, Pennsylvania Managed Care, Keystone Mercy. "This effort is part of our mission to help people get care, stay well, and build healthy communities. Eliminating hazards such as run-down playgrounds and developing safe play spaces is essential for community safety." As part of the build day on Saturday, March 24, volunteers will be building the playground structure, painting a mural, cleaning the surrounding area around the school, and adding landscaping. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is slated for 2:30 p.m. that afternoon. Keystone Mercy Health Plan, a health care ministry of the Sisters of Mercy in affiliation with Keystone First, Inc., is the largest Medical Assistance managed care organization in Pennsylvania, serving more than 270,000 Medical Assistance recipients. Keystone Mercy's mission is to help people get care, stay well and build healthy communities. For more information about Keystone Mercy Health Plan, please visit Keystone Mercy Health Plan.
