Heart Failure (HF)

When you have Heart Failure, your heart muscle is weak and fluid builds up. Keystone Mercy wants to help you live a healthy and active life. Without proper treatment, Heart Failure can:

  • cause your ankles to swell
  • make it difficult for you to breathe
  • make your heart work harder
  • make your energy level lower
  • be very dangerous to your life

The Keys to Your Care program will help you learn about Heart Failure and will help you understand about the medicines you are taking.The Keys to Your Care program will help you learn about Heart Failure and will help you understand about the medicines you are taking.  The program will also help explain the importance of weighing yourself and avoiding foods that can cause you to retain fluids (get puffy feet, "hold water").
