Breast Cancer Screening

Keystone Mercy encourages you to do a breast self-exam every month and get a mammogram every year.Keystone Mercy encourages you to do a breast self-exam every month as well as get a mammogram every year after the age of 40 as directed by you PCP. Your PCP can recommend a place close to your home where you can get a mammogram. You can also call Member Services to find out where you can get a mammogram. You can get a mammogram with a prescription. You do not need a referral or prior authorization to get a mammogram.

A mammogram is an x-ray of your breasts. A mammogram and regular exams can find breast cancer in its early stages. Cancer that is found early is easier to treat. A mammogram can show a lump before you or your doctor can feel it. Finding and treating cancer early can save your life.
